Not Me! Monday

Welcome to another "Not Me! Monday"
hosted by MckMama!!! Here again for a time
of confession!

This week, I did not tell Matthew, on many
occasions, "Go watch t.v." so we could work
on the floors. What kind of mother lets there
child watch so much t.v.?

I have not said more curse words (mostly
in my head) than I have ever said this week
while installing our floors! I would never
get so angry and frustrated that I would do
(think) this.

I did not go to lunch and a movie with my
best friend, wearing sweats, a t-shirt, and flip
flops. I, a mother of 2, ALWAYS look my best
when I go out. I also did not stop to think that
I have only gotten "ready" for church this
summer. I did not realize that I must have
looked pretty rough everywhere I have gone!

I am not typing this with one hand because
my daughter, who received her 6 months
shots today, is sitting in my lap, rather fussy!

I do not now have to go to the dreaded store
(which shall remain nameless, but starts with
a "W.") again because I did not forget something
while I was there earlier. I do not ever forget
anything! I do not despise this store, and do
not wish that we had a Target much closer
to our house.

Thank you for reading!!!

My Mood: Frustrated!

Just an update on the floors...
We have finished installing the floors in the
dining room. I think they look really good.
It seems like any little thing that could have
gone wrong, has gone wrong! Very frustrating!!!
This has definitely been a learning experience!
I feel like we have really accomplished a
lot, but then I think about how much we have
left...we still have the living room, foyer, and hall
to finish. It is really hard working on them while
also trying to watch Matthew and Logann. Matthew
wants to be in the middle of everything, and well,
Logann is just a baby who needs much attention!
I just pray that we have them done
by the time I go back to work! I will post some
pictures soon, so you can see the progress!

Our Summer So Far

I am absolutely loving staying home with my babies!
We are having a marvelous time together. Over the
past few weeks, we have had lots of fun and have made
lots of special memories!

Matthew and Logann at NaNa & Pop's House

Matthew and I went to his first drive-in movie. We took
Subway for dinner and M&M's to munch on during the
movie. We saw
"Up." He actually sat and watched the
whole thing (except for the two trips to the potty!)

We have been to visit my best friend Rachel, her new
baby Tyler, Anthony, and their dog Maddie a few times
so far this summer. Matthew thinks that Maddie is just
wonderful. He likes to throw the ball for her and make
her do her tricks. He says, "Maddie loves me so much!"
I think it is just hilarious. Logann loves seeing little Tyler,
too! I love spending time with my babies and my best friend!

Baby Tyler

I took Matthew and Logann swimming. Logann loved
the water! She played for about 15 minutes, and then
was out like a light, so Matt-Matt and I could play in
the pool together. He had so much fun splashing
around and jumping from the side of the pool! I am
so glad they both seem to love the water so much.

Here are a few pics from the pool!

Getting Ready to Go!

He was ready to swim!

She loved the water!

Matthew begged me to take him to Chuck E
Cheese last week. I gavein, even though it is
a 45 minute drive (because I refuse to go to the
onethat is 20 minutes away because it is a place
only for thugs.) It was somewhat difficult
by myself, with Logann, but we had a fabulous
time anyways. Logann loved all the lights,
colors, and sounds. Matthew was so excited
that he had grown some since the last time
we went, and he could climb up the play
structure all by himself! He was such a big
boy. He put a couple tokens in his pockets,
and went and chose what games he wanted
to play, while I watched. I just can't believe
how much he is growing up!

Logann has just been fun to watch. She is
sitting up all by herself now. She loves to
eat crackers now with her two little chompers.
I think she may be getting more teeth because
she has been a little cranky, drooly, and chewy
lately. She is so wiggly. I have a feeling that she
will be walking rather quickly...mommy does
not like this! She is so precious.

I am so thankful that my job allows me to
have these fun times with my children during
the summer. We are planning many more
outings to see what kind of fun we can have.
My list of future outings includes the zoo, the
aquarium in Chattanooga, the science museum,
definitely another drive-in visit, more swimming,
and maybe a trip to the mountains!

On another note, we are making progress
with the floors! After a rough start, and
many trips to Lowe's and Home Depot,
we have it figured out. I love the way the
floors look so far! Here is a preview! :)

Please Pray!

I come to you with 2 prayer requests. My heart is so heavy for 2 sweet Christian women, each struggling with something very difficult. I am going to put a link for each one so you can read more about their situations.

Prayer Request #1 - Adrienne, Jim, Owen, Miss A, & Baby Braxton

Adrienne has struggled to become a mom over the past many years. With 6 miscarriages and a failed domestic adoption, she has been through so much hurt. A baby was born a couple days ago that was to be hers through a domestic adoption. The birth mother is having doubts now. I cannot imagine the disappointment, pain, and fear she must be feeling. Please lift her up in prayer and that the right thing will happen for that sweet newborn baby.

Prayer Request#2 - MckMama and Stellan

I have written about baby Stellan on my blog many times before. After a little time at home from the hospital in Boston, Stellan is now back at the children's hospital near her home on a new drug regimen. Please pray for his healing.

Extreme Home Makeover...Not Really!

Instead of taking a trip to Destin this year, Chris and I had the brilliant idea of putting wood floors in our dining room and living room! We bought the floors and most of the supplies Friday. We were so excited, we decided to come home and take up the carpet in the dining room. When we did, we found a surprise! The bottom of the back door frame was beginning to rot. It was not bad, but we did not want to leave it that way. Sunday, we decided to tear a hole in our house! A really big hole that, to be quite honest, we weren't sure we could fix.

But, have no fear, we were quite successful!

We are now onto leveling the floors and repainting the walls where a little damaged occurred during trim removal. Installation of the floors in the dining room is set to begin Thursday evening! :) I will let you know how that goes! I pray that everything goes smoothly and quickly!

OOPS!!! How did this sweet little girl, who can now sit up, get in here??? Oh...Mommy is just so proud of her sweetness! Look how big she is getting!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I ask you to pray for a sweet blogger who is in the middle of an adoption. The baby boy was born today, but in her state, they must wait 72 hours before the mother may sign over her rights. Sweet Adrienne has been through so much, I just pray that everything works out! Please join me in praying for Adrienne, her husband Jim, their son (adopted from Russia) Owen, new baby Braxton, and Miss A!

Not Me! Monday

Here we go again! This week Chris and I did NOT decide that
it would be a great idea to pull up the carpet and put down
wood floors. As we were preparing to pull up carpet, we
did NOT discover our back door frame was not looking
too hot, and did NOT need to be replaced. We did NOT decide
that we were capable of removing the back door and
frame from the house and putting in a new one. We
were NOT so proud of ourselves that we were able
to accomplish this task in one afternoon. (Pictures of
our remodeling will be posted soon!)

This week Logann did NOT feel thankful for her skull. We
are working on sitting up. With this, also comes falling
over! On one occasion, I did NOT instruct my 3 year old
to catch Logann if she fell so I could get a picture....Logann
did NOT crash backwards into the floor! I didn't get the picture
I had hoped for, but will get one soon! That's NOT what you
get for having a 3 year old help you. Also, I did NOT let
Matthew hold a crow bar while we were in Lowe's buying
supplies. He did NOT then accidentally "tap" said crow bar
on Logann's head! Again, I think I did NOT give Matthew
too much responsibility this week in regards to his sister.

This morning, I did NOT decide to wear my pjs to go outside
and caulk the previously-mentioned, newly-installed door
while Logann took her nap. Matthew did NOT come out
on the deck to "help" me. I did NOT reach for the door knob
to discover that Matthew had NOT locked the door on his
way outside! Needless to say, I did NOT panic! (Remember, I
am still wearing my pjs.) When I realized Logann was inside, I
did NOT panic quite a bit more! I did NOT check every door and
window multiple times...like I thought they may miraculously unlock
or something! After NOT ringing one neighbor's doorbell a couple
of times (because she is really one of the only people I know on my
street), I did NOT go to another neighbor's house (pjs, bed-hair, and
son wearing only a doggy t-shirt and mickey mouse briefs) and ring
their doorbell multiple times until she came to the door. I did NOT
then beg to use her phone. After calling Chris, I did NOT go back
to my house, finish caulking the door, and then sit on my front porch
as it poured rain. Matthew did NOT continually ask me when we
could go back inside. When Chris finally did NOT come to the
rescue, Logann was NOT fast asleep in her room! I am NOT
going to have a couple of spare keys made to put in strategic places.

Again, I feel much better after revealing some of my blunders for the
week. Join MckMama's blog to see what others did NOT do this week!

Two Teeth and Strep...Again!

Just a quick update...

Logann now officially has two of the cutest teeth I have ever seen, seriously! The first one came through on Sunday, and the second made its appearance this morning! It feels so strange to have little Logann bite me! She has also been using her little chompers to eat some crackers! I can't believe she is getting so big! Pictures of said teeth are coming soon ( I would post them tonight, but she is already in the bed, and I don't want to wake her up for a photo shoot!)

In other news, Matthew has strep...again! Please pray for a fast recovery so we can hit the pool! He had strep a few weeks ago, and got better rather quickly. Chris and I both had it about a week after him. I finished my antibiotics, but I found out yesterday, that Chris only took about 3 days worth and then quit! Dr. J says Chris is the culprit. Chris and Matthew are both now on antibiotics, and MORE new toothbrushes have been bought!
